France beaten clearly by the All Blacks of New Zealand at their three test matches (0-30 and 8-28 in last two tests)... but France dominated scrums and line-outs...
What...? you dominate scrums and line-outs, you are trained by Philippe St Andre and Andre Lagisquet, two old glories of the French backs, and you can't score...?!?@#$@!?%
Modern international rugby seems to be more about mauls and quick pass BEFORE you go to the ground... Time to change your managers France... try an All Black like Canada, or a South African...

Go Canada, go!
Last wednesday, Canada (14th worldwide) played the Fiji islands (12th worldwide). For the first time in many years, Canada won... 20-17. But more than the win, they played a wonderful rugby, as good as the best games you will see on your TV...!
Mind you, they missed 5 out of 6 kicks... so there is even room for improvement...
Then last Saturday, Canada played Tonga, a country with 100,000 inhabitants, and 800 rugby players... but in front of Canada in the world rankings (12th versus 14th)... Canada won rather easily, thanks to a well deserved red card in the first half against a Samoan player: following a brawl with some shoving and pushing which might have called for only a talk to both captains, suddenly this Samoan player threw a punch to the face of a Canadian player, which would have pleased spectators at a boxing match, but we were playing rugby...
End result...
http://www.irb.com/rankings/full.html
Canada is now 13th worldwide, in front of Fiji, just behind Tonga...
The games to come this summer between Canada, the USA and Tonga could get Canada closer to the magic 12th world ranking... magic as it means an automatic qualification for the world cup, instead of having to qualify...
Go Canada...
PS: After the 12th rank, Canada can go after the 11th and 10th ranks... Scotland and Italy...
Since Scottish people were among the main contributors to the development of Canada, a game between Canada and Scotland would be a must... I'll be there... if not too far...!
I propose in New Scotland... Canada!

Go Jonny, go...
.
The English team did not want him any more... and elected to replace him with Farell, a young promising number 10, playing with the Saracens...
So Jonny Wilkinson decided to go and play in France, for the money, and... the glory.
Two years ago, Toulon stayed in the first division by a whisker, like a tenth of a point...
Then Toulon decided to aim for the best, hiring players from New Zealand, Australia, etc...like a deep pocket Russian on the English soccer stage...
Last Sunday, Toulon and its three or four Frenchmen, played a semi-final of the Heinz European trophy against the Saracens and their fourteen English players...
Both Wilkinson and Farell did not miss a single kick through the posts... but Toulon won... quite a game.. a must see...
The older rooster, getting closer to 35 every day, had a smile on his face, and went immediately to shake hand and.. comfort his opponent number 10...
Guess who could be selected for the summer tour of the Barbarians...

The All Reds...
.
In the 6 nations tournament, France got the wooden spoon trophy today for being last... bit more than one year after playing the world final against New Zealand...
One of the issue is that half or more of the scrum half and fly half in France are now foreigners... so that makes for a smaller reservoir when international games come... a bit the same issue with the England soccer team... too many foreigner players in the English championship reduce the reservoir for high level soccer players when international games come up...
France finished behind Ireland, and both finished behind... Italy, who beat Ireland today in Italy. The day before St Patrick day...! what happened to the luck of the Irish...? Maybe the new Pope Francis in Rome wanted to celebrate... the St Joseph coming up March 19 against March 17 for the St Patrick...?
England lost to Wales today, so Wales won the tournament with 4 victories. I'll remind you that Wales has the least number of inhabitants of the 6 nations, by a landslide...
How many people in Wales... France, England, Italy have more than 60 millions... Wales... 6 millions? no...3 millions... including kids and grandparents...
But 90% of the adults are working in a farm or in a pub, of which 50% play rugby...
All other sports than rugby are forbidden in Wales... or so it seems to me... a bit like New Zealand...
The All Blacks and the All Reds... Well done Wales! and the way they played rugby against England today... just watch the game... superb... Bravo...

France - 2
.
So France lost to England in London. 3 loses in three games, out of five games total to be played... with a game in Ireland to come, and a last game in Paris against Scotland.
The forwards had a decent game, touch, scrum, pick and go, defense.
They got cught by a quick English tryfollowing a lost ball in a ruck, it's part of rugby...!
They also got caught by the referee for a couple of deadly penalties in the rucks, but on the other hand the referee saw twice a ball kept on the ground by an English player, fighting to keep it...! and... he gave a penalty against France a few seconds later... Not that it would have given the victory to France, but... hard to accept from the same South African referree who reffed the final between All Blacks and France... I recommend to keep an eye on him for the future games of the French team...
The backs were useless, except the only time they went to the aisle, and Fofana (12) ran and scored.
Later on, the backs should have opened to the aisle and worked on some combinations beween the centre, the wing and the full back...?
In resume, work on the rucks, chane the backs, and chang the ref...!
The coach said training obviously was not efficient... I agree...
The only question left is when will France change coaches, before or after getting the wooden spoon...?

France
.
For the game against England Saturday, the French managers have changed more than half of the players who lost the last game (and the game before...).
If France loses again, they will be serious contender for the wooden spoon of the 6 Nations tournament, with thee games lost out of three and another game to be played in Ireland...
I was wondering what will it take to change the managers of the French team and get a preparation based more on physical fitness, speed and support, drills and... less brain... it's rugby, not chess...!

Italy
.
Last Sunda, Italy beat France 23-18...
A network of prostitutes in Italy apparently promised free services to the Italian rugbymen if they beat France. It seems that it worked...
Sorry... wrong country...? It is a network of prostitutes in Nigeria which promised free services to their soccer players if they win the African Soccer cup in progress...!
Alright... I thought so, that Emperor Caligula Berlusconi had lost power in Italy...
Unless this blog is ahead by one year...?
As for this year, let's simply say that the French players and coaches are useless...
Mind you... the two French coaches of the Italian team must have had a good laugh...
The Italians have also played quite well against Australia and the All Blacks recently, and Argentina is now playing in the former TRI-Nations against the All Blacks, Australia, and South Africa... Expect some surprises at the next World Rugby Cup in England in less than 3 years... France, Italy and Ireland are in the same group, for two seats in the quarter finals...!
